Launch of Super Bock Sky, featuring a unique formulation that makes it the first Portuguese beer with 30% fewer calories than the market average, 3.3% alcohol, and a smooth, refreshing taste.

Launch of Super Bock 0.0%
Launch of Super Bock 0.0%, featuring a fresher, more modern look and a new, convenient 33cl can format. This launch keeps pace with the global rise in alcohol-free beers in recent years. Super Bock remains the market leader in this segment.

Cristmas Brew
Super Bock celebrates the festive spirit with a new beer brewed with double malt, specially created to pair with the get-togethers that friends traditionally plan during this time of year.

Launch of Super Bock Gluten-Free
The first Portuguese beer to be certified gluten-free by the Portuguese Coeliac Association, suitable for people with coeliac disease and for anyone who chooses a gluten-free diet.

Launch of the Super Doc Special Edition
In tribute to doctors, nurses and all healthcare professionals, our alcohol-free beer was renamed Super Doc. The alcohol removed from this beer is converted into disinfectant gel, in partnership with Destilaria Levira, and donated to hospitals to support the fight against Covid-19.

Launch of the Limited-Edition Super Bock Oktober Edition
A limited-edition special beer brewed with selected malts and noble German hops, our take on the traditional Märzen style. Created to celebrate the end of the harvest season, it brings the spirit of Oktoberfest straight into everyone’s home.

Launch of Coruja Hoppy Lager
Hoppy Lager is a lighter, easy-drinking beer. Its citrus aroma, a result of dry hopping, brings out tropical notes, while the wheat malt adds a smoothness and lightness that make it refreshing and effortlessly enjoyable.

Launch of Super Bock Coruja
Super Bock introduced the Coruja brand, a new range of specialty beers that includes Session Saison, American Amber Lager and India Pale Ale. These beers take on a bold, unconventional positioning, bringing modern beer styles to the forefront with the aim of making beer culture and variety more accessible to everyone.

Super Bock elevates the beer experience at the table, highlighting the diversity and sophistication of its enjoyment with the Super Bock Selecção 1927 range, a collection of high-quality beers in a variety of styles. Munich Dunkel, Bavaria Weiss and Bengal Amber IPA come together to offer refined beers that are perfect for any occasion.

Launch of the New Easy-Open Bottle
With the launch of the pull-off system in the mini format, Super Bock becomes the first brand in Portugal to offer an easy-open bottle.

Launch of Super Bock Alcohol-Free
The best-selling alcohol-free beer in Portugal is launched, with a portfolio that includes Super Bock Alcohol-Free and Super Bock Alcohol-Free Dark, both brewed using innovative technology developed in partnership with the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.

Launch of Super Bock Abadia
A new beer joins the Super Bock family, inspired by the mastery of traditional brewers. A beer with a truly distinctive flavour, crafted in the spirit of classic Abbey-style beers.

In 2005, Super Bock became the most-ordered beer in Portugal.

Launch of Super Bock Green
2004 stood out for its innovation, introducing a light beer with a hint of lemon, a fresh, easygoing novelty made to pair with the summer breeze.

Launch of Super Bock Stout
Super Bock Stout is launched, a dark beer with a creamy head and a distinct aroma and flavour, the result of an unexpected blend of special malts. The Super Bock beer range begins to expand.

New Super Bock Label
It was the first time the brand included the “Authentic Taste” seal and the Gold Medals won at the prestigious Monde Selection awards.

Expo ’98 Sponsor
Expo ’98 took place in Lisbon, with the organisation partnering with Unicer as the event’s official sponsor, ensuring Super Bock’s exclusive presence and support.

1st Edition of Super Bock Super Rock
The first major summer festival in Portugal took place behind the Alcântara Maritime Station. Twenty hours of music with 13 bands, including The Jesus & Mary Chain, GNR, The Young Gods, Blind Zero, Black Company, The Cure, Faith No More, Morphine and Youssou N’Dour, set the tone for this very first edition of Super Bock Super Rock.

Technological Modernisation
The expansion of the distributor network called for a technological leap for the brand.

300M-Litre Sales Record
Unicer’s sales surpass 300 million litres and Super Bock becomes the market leader.

Monde Sélection Gold Medal
Super Bock received its first Monde Sélection Gold Medal.

New Super Bock Label
The brand adopted a new look, featuring for the first time the white lettering on red that still defines it today.

Nationalisation of Unicer
The 25 April 1974 brought with it the nationalisation of Unicer.

Replacement of crates
The new, lighter and more durable plastic crates replace the old wooden ones.

New truck body model
Coinciding with the opening of the factory, a new model is approved for the bodies of the CUFP distribution fleet’s new vehicles.

Opening of the Factory

Opening of the Brewery
On 1 May, the CUFP brewery opened its doors, designed by Arménio Losa. The new brewery quickly became a meeting place in the city, especially for those who appreciate a good beer.

Ads on the delivery trucks
The first ads displayed on Super Bock’s delivery trucks.

Sports events
Super Bock begins sponsoring sports events.

Replacement of barrels
The old wooden barrels are replaced with aluminium ones, offering greater durability and safer transport.

Hop shortage
Since early May, a hop shortage forces production to slow down and a rationing system to be put in place for beer distribution among vendors.

National malt
Navigation difficulties in the Atlantic lead Unicer to rely exclusively on national malt.
